Frank Segrave, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Frank is responsible for overall leadership and management of CPS. He is a seasoned healthcare executive with 35 years of leadership experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, marketing, supply chain, retail, merchandising, distribution, sales and managed care.
Frank joined CPS from Silvergate Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he was President and Chief Executive Officer. He has also served as Executive Vice President for Cardinal Health and Vice President of Pharmacy at Wal-Mart. He has received numerous industry awards including: EY Entrepreneur of the Year, Sam M. Walton Entrepreneurial Hero Award, REX Chain Drug Executive of the Year and CDR “Who Made a Difference in the Industry.” Frank is a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University and is a registered Pharmacist.
Jeff Foreman R.Ph., Group President
Jeff is responsible for executive leadership overseeing all of CPS’ business unit operations including pharmacy management solutions, consulting solutions, telepharmacy solutions as well as ambulatory and specialty pharmacy solutions. Jeff is also the executive leader for sales, marketing and CPS national resource groups in clinical, purchasing, materials management and rehabilitation services. Jeff brings over 25 years of pharmacy industry experience to his role at CPS. His expertise includes pharmacy operations, pharmaceutical wholesale distribution, pharmaceutical supply chain, pharmaceutical sourcing, marketing and business development. Prior to joining CPS, he was President of Smith Drug Company, a full-line mid-market pharmaceutical wholesaler/distributor. He has also held senior executive roles at Walmart, Medicine Shoppe International, Cardinal Health and Walgreens.
Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Ferris State University. He has served on the boards of Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA), Pharmacy First/Third Party Station (PSAO), OptiSource (GPO) and Rx Sourcing Strategies (GPO).
Ira Poltorak Pharm.D., Chief Operating Officer
Ira Poltorak serves as CPS’ Chief Operating Officer, providing key leadership and oversight for all CPS operations including Acute Care, Clinical and Purchasing, Consulting, Education and Training, Information Technology, Operational Finance, Outpatient and Retail, Resource Solutions, CPS Solutions Team, and Specialty Hospital Care including LTACH’s, Behavioral Health.
Ira graduated from Cal State University at Fullerton with a BA in biological sciences before getting his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Southern California. He is an advocate in the Leadership Circle for USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as a member of the USC Trojan Club.
Karl Bedwell, R.Ph., Chief Information Officer
Karl is an experienced healthcare leader with more than 3 decades of experience in healthcare operations, technology and overall broad systems implementations. As Chief Information Officer, he oversees technology, infrastructure and systems at Comprehensive Pharmacy Services. Prior to joining CPS, Karl served Walmart Inc. for more than 30 years, including 9 years in progressive pharmacy operations positions and 22 years as a member of the Executive Leadership team in Walmart’s Technology Division. His technology experience includes broad global roles in pharmacy, health and wellness, store applications, logistics and transportation systems, IT operations, corporate systems and emerging technologies such as blockchain.
Karl has a passion for aggressively supporting healthcare operations with technology to differentiate capabilities in superior patient quality care while reducing overall healthcare costs. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences and his Master’s in Health Administration from Ohio University. He holds a Healthcare Security certificate Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP).
Gentry Hughes, President
Gentry Hughes is responsible for the overall commercial strategy and growth of CPS. He works closely with leading health systems to forge new partnerships, supporting and implementing strategies that lead to improved pharmacy performance. He also leads the CPS Business Development Team, which identifies the needs of the nation’s leading healthcare organizations and builds strategic partnerships with them, developing innovative solutions to improve pharmacy performance system-wide.
Gentry has more than 20 years of healthcare sales and marketing experience. He has served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at DynaVox Technologies and also at Symphony Health, Global Chief Commercial Officer at Harlan Laboratories, and General Manager of Sales and Marketing at GE Healthcare.
Gentry received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Kentucky, and his MBA at Marquette University. He is also a Certified Six Sigma Blackbelt.
Walker Upshaw, Chief Development Officer
Walker Upshaw is Chief Development Officer for CPS, responsible for client relations, retention and continually enhancing CPS’ value to its clients across all business segments. He also oversees the company’s Telepharmacy Division and supports contract management across the organization. Walker has over 25 years of industry experience, working with companies including Lifesigns, Inc. as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Johnson & Johnson and Allergan, Inc. in sales leadership and training positions.
Walker is a graduate of the University of Alabama and earned his MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
Brian D. Johnson, Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Brian Johnson oversees CPS’ accounting and finance, treasury and cash management, and is responsible for the company’s planning and budgeting and its banking relationships. His years of experience include various director and controller roles in companies including Accredo Health Inc., Southern Stores Inc. and U.S. Office Products to name a few.
Johnson is a graduate from the University of Mississippi and a 2011 Memphis Business Journal CFO of the Year Awards Finalist. He’s driven by the opportunity to play a critical part in influencing the strategic direction of CPS, with a great management team by his side.
Rod Recor, Chief Marketing Officer
Rod Recor drives all marketing, communications and brand initiatives across the enterprise in order to align with the corporate growth strategy. He also leads product development functions in order to align capabilities and brand with the marketplace. With over 20 years of healthcare industry experience, Rod has designed, developed and led many successful new product and service initiatives. He has extensive background in managed care, including as SVP for ValueOptions and director of product development with CIGNA where he developed the first-of-its-kind health-coaching program along with several other consumer-facing health management solutions. As a director within United Health Group’s eSolutions, he was responsible for leading a variety of B2B technology initiatives, driving sales efficiency and new product development opportunities.
Rod graduated from Yale University and holds an M.B.A. in Health Systems Management from the University of Connecticut.
Sherry Piotraschke, Div. President Compliance and Regulatory Services
Sherry Piotraschke is CPS’ Compliance Officer, serving as Division President of Compliance and Regulatory Services. She leads a team of regulatory, quality, and medication safety specialists. She brings extensive experience with her, serving in National Appointments including The Joint Commission’s Professional and Technical Advisory Council; Editorial Advisory Board for the “Perspectives on Patient Safety” publication; and was a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ Council of Professional Affairs as Vice Chair and Chair.
Before joining CPS, Sherry was the Vice President of Compliance and Risk Management for McKesson Medication Management where she was responsible for regulatory and legislative research and analysis, review and guidance of pharmacy practice quality and safety initiatives, as well as a Compliance Officer role. Her leadership experience spans 16 years with Mayo Clinic Hospitals in Minnesota and Florida.
Sherry is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin’s School of Pharmacy and received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas.
Marney Wilkerson R.Ph., President, Hospital Operations - East
As President of Eastern Operations, Marney is responsible for the quality, operational, clinical, regulatory and financial performance of CPS facilities in the Eastern U.S. and Caribbean. He oversees the annual review and revision of the company’s Rx-Assess platform, managing a 372 element audit of pharmacy services including Client Relationships, Regulatory Readiness and Best Practices to name a few. Marney also serves on the Leadership and Advisory Councils of CPS.
He has worked with a wide variety of hospitals, holding many management positions ranging from Director of Pharmacy and National Accounts Manager to Sr. Vice President of Operations in Hospital Pharmacy Outsourcing Management. His areas of focus include performance improvement, regulatory, automation, clinical and purchasing, preliminary marketing due diligence and contract negotiations.
Marney values being part of the dynamics of CPS and believes it to be the best in the industry for clinical, purchasing and regulatory. He is proud to be a part of CPS’ ability to significantly impact the patient experience within healthcare. Marney graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and was a 2009 CPS Hirschman Award recipient.
Edward Choy, Pharm.D., President, Hospital Operations - West
As President of Western Operations, Edward is responsible for the quality, operational, clinical, regulatory and financial performance of CPS facilities in the Western U.S. He provides strategic and financial oversight of CPS support regions to ensure that CPS continues to meet and exceed customer expectations. He oversees acute, sub-acute and outpatient pharmacy operations for CPS’ largest clients, where he is responsible for client account financial performance, system integration, revenue opportunity exploration, implementation, customer relations and strategic planning.
Edward has held many key positions with CPS, including Director of Pharmacy, Corporate Director of Pharmacy, Consultant/Project Manager, Director of Specialty Pharmacy, Regional VP and DVP, Pharmacy Solutions. He was CPS’ first Regional Manager. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Southern California and his M.S. of Pharmacy Administration at Ohio State University.
Marvin Finnefrock, Pharm. D., Divisional President, Clinical and Purchasing Services
Marvin Finnefrock oversees all clinical and purchasing services for CPS, including clinical program development, corporate purchasing process, clinical education, quality disease state management and clinical contract evaluation. His extensive background includes serving as Clinical Coordinator at several large and small hospitals, Director of Disease State Management for a large physician group in southern California as well as Pharmacy Director and Pharmacy Buyer.
Marvin received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California and his Clinical Pharmacy Residency from Presbyterian Hospital Whittier California. He serves as preceptor and associate professor for several schools of pharmacy and colleges. He was also a past chair of several committee advisory boards in pharmacy.
Randy Rocha, Vice President, Human Resources
Randy Rocha is Vice President of Human Resources, leading CPS’ advancement in human capital programs for over 2,000 professionals. With more than 25 years of senior-level human resource management positions, Randy has served as Director of Human Resources for Crye-Leike Real Estate Services, Head of Human Resources for CNIC U.S. Navy NAF around the world, Vice President of Employee Relations for ServiceMaster and other top level HR positions at TruGreen, U.S. Office Products and International Paper.
He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and holds multiple certifications in arbitration, workshop facilitation, process improvement and has served in roles directing all HR programs including, recruitment and development, employee & labor relations, EEO programs, compensation & benefits management, government compliance, and systems implementation.
